In the book Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, she is always talking about how in that time the women always were set up with someone to marry. She talks about how the mother of Elizabeth Bennet wants her daughters to be married to someone with money. To Austen in the book I honestly think that for a woman to respectable is the most important thing for a woman in order to marry. I say this because even though women had to be beautiful to marry into money they also had to be a respectable woman. Jane and Elizabeth were both respectable women and they both attracted men of the upper class. Jane attracted Mr. Bingley and Elizabeth attracted Mr. Darcy. When Mr. Darcy was proposing to Elizabeth he said that she was a very respectable woman and that she was beautiful but I honestly think that having a respectable woman is more important than beauty when it comes to marriage.

There are many things that define good parenting. Many people think that whipping their children when that child does something wrong is right. Others think that positive reinforcement is the best way to raise a child. They only think this because their parenting skills are based off of what their children do and they want to look good in the eyes of the world. Parents are responsible for all of their children’s actions and they try to mold their children to do the right thing. Parents are also responsible for the education of their children. This children that have little to no education are seen as dumb and their parents are seen as horrible parental figures. Those kids with a great education are seen as smart and their parents are seen as very good and outstanding parental figures. The same goes for children that are into drugs. If the child is doing drugs then the parents are seen as uncaring and irresponsible. If the child is not doing drugs then the parents are seen as caring and responsible. These are just a few of the parental responsibilities that parents have over their children.

People are very easily influenced by first impressions because other people want everybody to like them. I honestly don't think that first impressions are as important because if someone doesn't like the real you then they shouldn't be around you. Many people invest all their time in getting people to like them through their first impressions. I knew one person that spent days and days at a time just trying to make them sound like an awesome person. After the first impression was over the person they were trying to impress go to know them and didn't like that person. It just went to show that first impressions are not as important as many people like to think. First impressions in my mind are just lies that we tell ourselves and other people to get them to like us. I honestly do not like unhonest people and whenever I am meeting someone I want to make sure that they see who I am. I don't like having a first impression unless it is a truthful first impression.

The setting of this book is very important because it really shapes the plot and characters. When I am reading this book I can imagine that I am sitting there in the story as a ghost. Setting in this story makes it show that the Bennet's and Bingley have money. When Mrs. Bennet is talking about Netherfield you can just tell that Bingley has a lot of money. When looking at the Bennet's wealth you can tell that they have money but not as much as Bingley. Also when hearing about Mr. Darcy's wealth and his estate you can tell that he has a lot of money. The book could have taken place somewhere else than the rural area of England but if the book was set in the town of London then there wouldn't be so much color and you wouldn't have seen all the wealth from the families.

Mr. Bennet in the book Pride and Prejudice is the father of the main family. My feelings towards him are that he is very quiet and doesn't speak his mind a lot. He is kind of controlled by his wife and when he wants to make his own decisions he makes them even though his wife doesn't like those decisions. I feel that Mr. Bennet is a good man and a good father. I feel that he is not all that great of a husband but he can still keep the family together and happy. When I think of Mr. Bennet I think of my father because he is always making decisions that are helping out the family and thinking about them. That is important to a family because if the father wasn't around the family could fall apart and dismember. This is my opinion on Mr. Bennet and if he is a good man, father, and husband.
